BBS backstage at the Radlett Centre in Hertfordshire, just before going on stage...

Johnny was on an ethereal holiday for this gig, so Raphael stepped in to cover the top parts, which we think he did very well.

  • How did you get together ? Do you have a website ? were you involved in barbershop first ?

    Very impressed

    JHP

  • We started on barbershop about 8 years ago; since then we've not really done much barbershop at all, more close harmony stuff like Take 6.

We do have a website - search for 'Beach Boys Smile' in google and you should find us.

Thanks for the lovely comments John - aloha from London!

  • Unf****ing awesome......

  • @inbetweentics Mighty fine. Keep the music going.

  • i about passed this up because i'm not into tribute bands esp of one of my all time faves, but i grew up on the beach boys way back in the day and YOU guys sure know how to sing HARMONY! knowing what the beach boys went through by discipline to become the legend they are, you exemplify some great work here inspired by them. it's so much better than these boy bands of the last couple decades. thanks for making me S M I L E :D

    love,

    usa

  • good=)

  • awesome

  • That was, authentically, brilliant ! Great Job!

  • Incredibly well done! Your voices all melt together magically!

  • @frankietrent yeah the problem is that so many groups try to overdo the Beach Boys, but such simple magic as that incredible group is not to be overdone. These guys stick to the roots and focus on the soul, not putting on a show. Their harmonic tones are the show

  • @beachboyssmile I was also very curious about the acapella itself. I am looking to start my own group, but besides getting singers together I really don't have any idea where to start. Do you have any advice? Should I arrange stuff on sheet music (everyone would be able to read; no problem) or should we just work completely by ear. How did your group do it?

I do have an idea of the sound I would want to achieve. I have gone over it many times in my head, and I can't wait until it can be sung
