a short picture story of my scoliosis correction surgery. I have seen a lot of these videos out there but of girls, so i thought i'd make one for the dudes of youtube. I had my surgery on may 7th 2008 at the LA Children's Hospital, my surgery was performed by Dr. Skaggs.

I don't remember anything from the first week except for when the idiot nurses accidentally took me off morphine for a hour or so. Shit hurt....

That's exactly how morphine works. You still can feel some of the pain (not all) but you just don't care about it. It's a great drug. For medical purposes... :)

Wow, This was like looking into a fucking mirror. I was diagnosed in grade 8 also and had a reverse "s" curve as bad as yours. Looks like we had the exact same surgery, same instrumentation... One thing we didn't have the same was a morphine drip. They were very conservative with pain killers and I was in absolute agony most of the time. That was about a decade ago - since then I've jumped out of planes, scuba dived deep ocean and backpacked around most of the world.
