when you turn on the PS3, hold down the button the whole time, without picking it up, and it should let you change the resolution.

i put level 1.1 in my ps3 hooked to an hdtv via component cable and another time via hdmi but when I play it it's only in 480i. how do i get it to display in 1080p?
