Infra-red is a color that's past our vision of sight on the spectrum. So its something that's there, but can't fully be seen.

It's not a specific color actually, it's all thermal colors, which are too high on the spectrum to be seen by human eyes. certain animals can see it though.

Many birds and some snakes can detect infrared. It's actually related to heat.
