  • So I guess there's a pile of videos coming to watch and I know you don't like to say what's coming up next so I'm afraid there's only one way to find out: watch the videos ;) haha

    Greetings

    Michael

  • @Westcoast802 And in this moment of the trip, Michael, I put my life on the line nobody has ANY idea how the rest of the trip will look like, cause at one point you will gonna ask yourself: HOW IS IT POSSIBLE?! From Charleston another over 5K MILES to go, so...

Uploading is my only (big) issue, a 15-min video = 1.8 GB and my max U/L speed: 0.64 Mb/s, yes, DSL High Speed Internet, so almost 7 hrs for a 15-min video.

  • @401RoadWarrior Oh yeah, uploading is really a problem. I mean if you download 100 MB it takes you maybe 2 or 3 minutes and if you upload 1.8 GB it takes you almost 7 hrs and that's what they call "High Speed Broadband Internet" ( If you load down Yeah, but if you load up NO). And I hope you got a Flatrate, if not you probably get a big surprise at the end of the month ;)

    Greetings

    Michael

  • @Westcoast802 I have UNLIMITED Internet connection for about $35/month. Also for D/L: 4.2 Mb/s. I live in an old building in Toronto, I spoke with those that work on the ground installing phone cables, internet, cable, etc., even if I order fiber optics cable internet still max 4.2 Mb/s for D/L and 0.64 Mb/s for U/L, so as long as I'm in this building not much I can do, old risers (cables, I guess) as they said, building is over 30 yo.

  • @401RoadWarrior Old telephone wires have reached their limit. I got Internet over the cable TV box (there's one connection for radio, one for cable TV and one for internet) and my D/L speed is 6.078 MB/s and U/L 1.024 MB/s. This is the highest speed for my area ( I live not in a city). In the bigger citys the fiberglass net is available with wich you can get 30MB/s D/L and 4MB/s U/L but I think that is todays limit.

    Greetings

    Michael

  • @Westcoast802 At that speed, 1 Mb/s for U/L, you're on DSL connection, Michael, not cable internet, usually cable starts at 5 Mb/s for U/L but also it costs way more than DSL (also called High Speed Internet), usually around $100/month. Fiberglass is even faster than cable but only very new buildings or houses have such modern cables installed inside. For normal D/Ls, 4 Mb/s is pretty much more than enough, LIVE TV (Fox News or Sun News) runs perfectly on a 4 Mb/s D/L speed.

  • @Westcoast802 That's the 4th day of the trip, 19 days in total, so... LOL

2 more videos on Charleston and then we move on to the next destination...

  • Seems like Charleston is a very versatile city. First a lot of cobblestones, then palms and then normal trees. ( It's also noteworthy that in nearly every street are trees on both sides). BTW beautiful videos I know there are a lot of more coming, right?
