gogol and les jamming tom waits tunes, it's like te music fairies finally listened to me!

There's a contrast of two artists. The first thing Claypool does is acknowledge and apologize for their tardiness- and even offered an explanation. Unlike Kanye who didn't even say one word about his late start.

What a classy Fucking guy

@oggendoggen2 Tom Waits acted in Wristcutters: A Love Story which has was heavily inspired by Gogol Bordello... but seriously there isn't actually such a strong connection. Except for all the Tom Waits songs that have European folk influences. Please watch [youtube]/watch?v=qVaEPx_VyXs to the end and you'll be surprised by the scope of his abilities as an arranger.

I love that movie but Eugene is not in it. That character is based on him and named Eugene. And Tom Waits is incredible in the movie. Will Arnett is excellent also.

claytonofun26 posted a reply to my video. I accidently deleted it! Anyway, I copied and posted it from my e-mail.
claytonofun26 has made a comment on Les Claypool with Gogol Bordello SUPERJAM part 1:
eugene hutz of gogol bordello is an actor as well and he and tom waits were in the movie "wristcutters" together.
MY RESPONSE:
Thank you for explaining the connection! Wristcutters is number two on my NetFlix queue! I cannot wait to see it now!

WOW...
Why did they do this? Don't get me wrong, this was BRILLIANT of them to play Waits songs, they're probably the only one who could cover them well, but what connection to Waits does Gogol have?
oggendoggen2 3 years ago
Well, not sure about a connection between Waits and Gogol, but Les Claypool has collaborated with Waits several times. Tom Waits is the voice of Tommy the Cat in the song of the same name by Les Claypool's most famous band, Primus. Waits also collaborated again on the Primus song Coattails of a Deadman from the album Antipop. Les has also played bass on several songs on Tom Waits albums.
