Small-scale Stirling prototype. It took maybe 6 or 8 hours to build, mostly from scraps. The only really tricky parts were the piston and the displacer shaft, both of which have to be air-tight.

A few more candles (or a larger one) and a smaller flywheel would probably get this guy really moving.

  • how did u make it could u tell me how

  • I didn't make it from any plans, if that's what you mean. But if you read up on stirlings, it's pretty simple to design your own with the scraps you have.

  • I found a rod and a tube at the hobby store that were a good fit. Same for the piston and cylinder, although that was two tubes that fit well together.

  • Nice work, you should try making the power piston stroke shorter to get more speed out of it.

  • Very well for a device made out of scraps, decent looks and it runs.

  • wow someone needs to get a life! lol what a loser

  • Nice engine! How did you tigh the displacer shaft?
