@olier1 It was rather unjust, Just like movies to do that though, They ALWAYS tell their version of events and the sad thing about it is, The Movie Versions get believed more than the true events, It truely is depressing to think that people actually believe fiction to fact.
Correct facts (I work at BP): The Poles broke the commercial Enigma, as used by the Reichsmarine since 1928, in 1931. When the Germans introduced the military Enigma in 1938 that locked the Poles out. The first break in that machine was made by Dilly Knox at B.Park in Jan 1940. Knox bought a comm Enigma in Vienna in 1926 and we reverse engineered it so we knew how it worked. Harris's book is FICTION and only loosely based on one or two events. The Polish Cypher Bureau IS mentioned in the film.
@olier1 On paper, NOT large scale, That would have taken forever to break, The trouble with Enigma is that no single letter will produce itself as itself in Cyphertext and the longer the Cyphertext is the easier it is to break, Being the Case that the Germans wrongly assumed that Enigma was unbreakable, They would frequently send a whole page as Cyphertext, Thus the Polish broke it via this method,Even then the message was useless as it took them to long to be of any use,The film was after Poles
My god, I had this movie for such a long time and now I see that beside Jeremy there are Tom an Matthew in it. I know what I watching the next time *lol*

I don`t understant why the role of polish mathematicians is ruled out and the only Pole is presented as a villain in that movie
