  • Eddie must (hopefully) know that a "berliner" in Berlin means - obviously - a native Berliner.

Only in western Germany does the word mean "doughnut".

JFK was right on in this case.

    A silly myth ...

  • I think thats the joke! Great post!

  • WOW JFK's super fan here didnt think that was very funny. Personally i think its hilarious. Even if they did know what he ment, he still said he was a doughnut lol

  • @pretzelberg

eddie was actually right.. i mean whe u say ich bin Berliner u are saying u are from berlin.... but wher u add the "ein" it imediatelly becomes in a doughnut... gramatic in germany it's complicated... but they are rly estrict with that

  • WOW this guy must be the dumbest guy alive JFK had it right all the time you can stop making the joke

  • hes a fucking doughnut!! lolz

  • "Laddronaut....." LOL

  • Proper german would have been "Ich bin Berliner." The article "ein" evokes an object, and since a berliner is also a (jam-filled) pastry, "Ich bin ein Berliner" sounds funny. Obviously the people of Berlin still understood what JFK meant.

  • must be the CD... (available on his site)...

I heard they vary somewhat from the DVDs. Same tour though. Very cool!

  • what do you think dr. heimlech? LOL
