Hello Mark,
I really enjoyed your video.
The casserole looks great. I hope you post pictures of it on your blog when the are finished.
Oh, and I'm going to try spraying slip on some of my pots. Thanks for the good tips and that video, too.

Hi Mark! Saw one of your casserole dishes on your blog/web site. Will this one have the same lugs handles? Very nice shape! Thanks for posting, Sharon

Hi Sharon. Yes I think I will put lugs on these. May video the whole process, just to show all the steps; and to see what I decide to do with them!

Beautiful shape! I have to make a casserole as a wedding present for a cousin, so this is timely and very helpful.
Can you tell me how much clay you used for the lid? I can never sort out how much to use. I'm either trying to stretch what I have or continually cutting off excess!
Thanks for all your postings.

Thanks. I used 1kg for the lids, I did have to work a bit though, so probably should have used a little more just to make things easier. Around 1.2kg would have been better. It depends on the shape you are throwing. The lid should reflect the shape of the base, so if I was throwing a rounder shape I would have used a bit more clay for the lid to allow for the higher curve (if that makes sense?).
