Its always hilarious that people try to argue with what the historical records document. After all why would the veterans of that war some 30 years latter still refer to it as a Hornets nest?
I went to Shiloh on the 4th and they had a live cannon demonstration; Petty cool, but I just had to ask know it all Ranger some questions that he couldn't answer.
I don't know I might have had some better luck asking that find brunet the same question regarding the cannon LOL.
I didn't see the whole video, but I disagree with some of the analysis. I was just at Shiloh, and the parts of the Hornet's Nest that held on the longest were the parts that were accidentally able to execute a reverse slope defense. Seriously, at some parts, the Rebs would be silhouetted at 40 yards and unable to see a concealed defender in the bush.I feel that this video de-emphasizes the bravery of the Northern defenders. It wasn't all about "oh...it's mucky, so I guess we lose!"
o my god it suck

Yeah it was in regards to the Napoleon Cannon they used for the demonstration .Yeah pretty cool.
And it was really half the amount out of Black that was used during the Civil War or firing a shot down range.
