Testing a stock Jeep Rubicon to check out the lockers function correctly in 4WD-Low. Hill is steeper than it looks... This is a very impressive vehicle. Traction control in 4WD-High keeps good traction and avoids wheel spin and is disabled in low.

  • Very impressive. That dirt is like talcom powder, and very difficult to go thru. Even if it were level (which is was not) most vehicals would stop. Nice.

  • @lawnchair11

2012 models will have the new pentastar engines with like 280 hp

    ;)

BUT I STILL WANT A DAM DIESEL!

  • i had two jeeps transfer lever broke on 2011 the small clip made of plastic thats' all hold the cable linkage show i shifted out of 4 hi to 4 lo it broke in neutral, so i was stuck ...why would jeep build something like that POS , you 4 wheel your going to be shifting, only 10k miles on it

  • @alexrex20 MY JKU weighs in at 5200lbs with bumpers, inch and armor. Way more than a TJ ever weighed in at pretty sure. The 3.8L makes more HP and torque than the 4.0L. I do not drive slow at all, and I have never owned anything gay like a cobalt. The JK is definitly not a hot rod and the 2012 JK with the 3.6L is supposed to be amazing. Do you own a JK? Have you put over lots of miles on one??? Im happy with mine thats all I am saying. Some people arent happy with a 600hp Mustang.

  • @mudog35 Nope but advance adapters has a beefy upgrade to prevent that.

  • @forknuts it's also a matter of opinion when YOU say the 4.0 would be a dog in a JK. don't lecture me on opinion vs. fact. if you have a JKU on 35s and don't think it's a dog on the highway in the mountains, then either you drive really slow or have never owned anything quicker than a Chevy Cobalt.

  • @alexrex20 Thats a matter of opinion. I live in the mountains and have since I owned a JK. I have a K&N and a programmer. I have 0 complaints about the JK on and off road.

  • @forknuts be honest, your jeep on 35s with the 3.8 is a dog on the highway

  • has you transfer lever ever broken ???

  • @lawnchair11 Very true. My cousin had a 08 wrangler 2 door and I have a 98 with 4" lift and 35's. We lined them up at a light and raced each other. I blew his doors off! The best part is that his jeep was stock.

  • let the air out of your tires on sand

  • @lawnchair11 Wrong! . A few years ago I would agree, but now, the new V-6 motors are developing some really impressive performance.

  • @2grand4U You said "any ways the 3.6 on the way is alot smaller and puts 280Hp and 260HP with better mpg.."

And you are correct. I have a 2012 Wrangler w/the new Pentastar engine, and it is a definite improvement.

  • @lawnchair11 any ways the 3.6 on the way is alot smaller and puts 280Hp and 260HP with better mpg..

  • @forknuts i never said anything about putting the 4.0 in a jk. im just comparing engines and saying that i would own a jeep with a straight six any day over a 3.8 v6.

  • @lawnchair11 The I6 would be a dog in a JK. Its under powered for these heavier beasts. My JKU weighs in at 5200lbs with all the bumpers, winch and 35's. The 3.8L does a fine job on road and in 4 low its more than enough power to scare the crap out of anyone.

  • Is that in canadian lakes mi?

  • No actually, as my username suggests I'm a Ford fan. I love any thing that gets beat on of the road though.

  • @taypuc31 i dont care about numbers of horsepower....any inline 6 engine has more balls than a v6

  • @lawnchair11 Actually the current "mini van" engine has more torque and HP than the inline 6. 215hp vs 177.

  • @Fordfanforlife777 I take it your a die hard CJ fan?

  • @kferrell630 Yes, it was the first of the fake Jeeps, I think...

  • @Fordfanforlife777 So does a YJ

  • now you just need CTIS. ;p

  • @lawnchair11 grand cherokee is not a real jeep. OlllllllO it has square headlights.

  • @Fordfanforlife777 ok....you know everything then...and the new 2012 grand cherokee srt8 is designed to go over 60MPH, thats why it has a hemmi
