The Social Sciences Cluster is a strong fellowship of Ateneo High School organizations that is aware and responsive to humanity or the society that humanity personifies. The Social Sciences Cluster or SocSci is composed of the following orgs: Atenista Kasama sa Buhay or AKBay (Peer Counseling and Psychology org); Ateneo Scouting Movement or A.S.M (The nationalist and survival org); Kamalayan at Tinig ng Atenista or KatA (Political and Social Awareness org); Students of Excellence, Action, Leadership, and Service or SEALS (Leadership Theory and Leadership Service Training Org); and Salbahin at Wastuhin ang Kapaligiran or SWaK (Environmental Awareness Org.)
The orgs of the SocSci and the cluster has been known for its various services not just to the Ateneo community but to the Filipino nation as well. Some examples are: AKBay has used its counseling prowess as a comfort tool to prisoners on its reach-out project to Bilibid; ASM with its competent and disciplined scouts has been in various international jamborees with other select Filipino scouts to represent the Philippines; KaTA has continued its political and social activism through surveys, information drives and election watchdog activities (especially during 2007 national elections); SEALS has lead its members to make leadership seminars for various student councils and student governments; SWaK has lead in the AHS a CLAYGO drive for a cleaner campus and joined the Clean Air Act Rallies back in 2003. The orgs united as one SocSci is in itself multi-awarded with various OSA Teddies Awards for Excellence and Two St. Ignatius Awards (for SY 06-07 and 08-09) for its various services like the Christmas Backdrop-Gawad Kalinga Fund Drive, Turon Dunong-TD Fund Drive, Serye Kabataan Youth Congress, and the C.I.W. Reach-Out Integration Project with the Sciences and Socio-Spiritual Cluster.
2009 marks the Tenth Year Anniversary of the Social Sciences Cluster, coinciding with the Ateneo's Sesquicentennial Celebration. In line with this, the simple documentary Ten Years of Magis: The Social Sciences Cluster is made to commemorate the various activities and history of the SocSci. The documentary shows the cluster and org leadership describing their respective orgs now and their personal relationship with it and the SocSci. The documentary also shows a picture montage of the orgs and the SocSci throughout the past ten years. Pictures are courtesy of the Office of Student Activities or OSA Archives.
