heres how to get 1:find one tip:you can find them faster when there's not many trees if u just want cash then chop your trees all down and leave coconuts and catch rare bugs
2:when u see one walk back a little and take out ur net 3:walk slow toward it and swing ur net (make sure u don't miss)

@MrRgroomer - Go to the city, and into the barber shop looking place...I think it's called Shampoodle. There's an option there to use a Mii face.

I don't think you can make them appear more frequently, but just walk around in the summer at night, and you should eventually find one.
