52 years and Malaysia has a long more way to go. But there are fears that her life may be cut short. If the unrest prolongs then trouble will certainly be waiting for us. We have urged political parties to keep religion away from their agenda but it fell on deaf ears. We begged, we pleaded and we wailed but alas it is all in vain. Just when we thought that things cannot get any worse - it did.
Many are saddened and concerned by the string of attacks on several churches in the Klang Valley. But most importantly many are already pleading with political parties to stop politically capitalising on this lucrative' controversy. Enough in enough. The attack on the churches marks a black dot in the books of Malaysian democracy.
So does this act as a mockery to democracy? According to Father Simon from the Church of St. Francis Xavier's, this is a painful road towards maturity. In an interview with klik4malaysia.com, Father Simon expressed his concern that this issue - given the degree of sensitivity attached to it, has been garnering many unwarranted attention. Many unwarranted political attention to be more precise.
