The Good River

The Good River is a short film being made by a group of undergraduate students from Azusa Pacific University. It follows the story of Jonah, who is a slave in the years leading up to the American Civil War. By night, others on his plantation row fellow slaves to freedom across the Ohio River as part of the Underground Railroad. As they pressure Jonah to join the effort, he is forced to decide between his desire for self preservation and the needs of others. The story depicts his struggle with self-sacrifice in the midst of great suffering.
