This is an unfinished music video to The Mariner's Revenge Song by the Decemberists. I drew all the images with ink on paper then animated them in after effects.
The concept behind the video was that the mariner was in the whale telling the story of his life with a paper puppet show.
The part of the video that still needs to be finished is the telling of the story inside the whale. I would like to film this with live action marionettes.

I love the video but I must say, I really dislike the boy's character design, when he grows up, he just seems far too calm and confused, as opposed to looking like he's seeking revenge, as for the Captain, well I simply just don't like his character design. Either way, two small complaints to an otherwise great video.
