Utah Phillips "Serving Humanity Through Music"

Upon receiving his award, Utah Phillips expresses appreciation for his community and who brought him here. "Hey Sid, this thing belongs to you, you know, you got me to this town...Dakota Sid next year alright! It's just fair. That man's been making music longer than God." Utah then shares his story of the event that inspired him to grow roots in Nevada County. "Well we do live in a very very special place... I learned that when I first played here in 1976 - when we reopened the Nevada Theater. Sid got me down there, we shared the stage on that trip and I fell in Love with the town..."
