I knew Chris when he was playing in a band named 'Screw' in the late 60's early 70's. They supported the Stones in Hyde Park. He was a really nice guy way back then. As I remember, he only had one pair of trousers, so gigs and trouser washing had to be arranged on alternate days. Heh!
He's looking and sounding good.

I just met Chris a few hours ago and had a harmonica jam session with Chris, Rachel, and our mutual friend, Bill Newton. What nice folks! Chris is a great harp player.

I'm an old student of Chris' from back in the late '80's. I wish I could have studied longer with him: he taught me the basics, and I'm just finding out now, after 20 years of playing, how much I don't know.

We hurdy-gurdiers are supposed to play an instrument that comes directly from hell. I love it!!

The instrument is loosely based on the iconography of the Garden of Delights painting (right hand panel, Musical Hell) by Hieronymus Bosch. It was my notion to have three wheels, one for each function -melody, rhythm and drones. Otherwise the instrumnet was designed and constructed by jeremy Woodward of Providence, Rhode Island and Daniel Thonon of Montreal, Quebec.
