the robison mansion is beautiful and is featured on over 3 acres of Iron gated private grounds....you really have to visit canon city, colorado and see all of our beautiful historic structures, attractions and charming people. :)

The mansion is still on the historic registry which restricts exterior changes and mandates that the owner (if funds are received) maintain the look and integrity of the original structure...interior changes are completely up to the owner. As of this date we are currently putting the finishing touches and are anxious to share our improvements with you. April 2011 the Robison Mansion will be in all its glory and we will begin landscaping beautiful gardens.

OMG i don't know what to say, I am reading these comments and i am laughing and shaking my head...haunted? slaves being hung? underground tunnels? The Robison Mansion has been completely renovated and updated... exterior paint, interior paint, granite countertops throughout, stainless steel appliances, modern bathrooms with travertine and marble dual head showers, media room...and much more.

It's much improved! Last time I saw it was years ago, and I especially think the trees look great. Of course, my son trimmed up all your trees! I'm so glad to see the place alive again. It's been way too long. I wish you success in Canon City!

(I love all the Junior High school comments about hauntings! I have a big old Italianate house just up the road from you and for the first five years we owned it, I heard the same stories about it!)

I was in this mansion about 5 years ago....this is truely a beautiful place. The basement that is only partially shown also has undergorund tunnels with ball and chain that lead slaves in from the railroad back in the day.

@eep2madness there are not any bigger houses on 9h street there is one really big house but its not bigger and yes this place is haunted. there were two slaves hung at the shed in the back if you ever go there and look at the shed in the back you can see a block of wood that comes out at the roof and thats where the slaves were hung. dont beleive me. go to the canon city musem and there is a picture of the slaves geting hung.

This place is not all it's cracked up to be, there are houses on Ninth st. in Canon City that are twice the size and twice more beautiful than this "mansion". This place is for sell but no one will buy it because it's protected as an historic land mark, which means if anyone were to move in to it, they won't be able to change the original floor plan or it's all in all look, and if you actually owned the place, you'd want to re-do most of the interior. Just an opinion though.
