I may be young, but that doesn't mean I have no conscience. I am well aware of issues like this. Since creating this video, I have become vegetarian, and I own 3 chickens that each lay one egg a day. My aim is to make young people more aware of animal welfare issues, as it is something close to my heart. I believe the way that animals are treated by battery farmers is disgusting, and should be stopped. If you agree with my principles, I would like to know about it. Please comment and tell me what you think about battery farming. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video, I really appreciate it.

UPDATE 18.02.12 - Wow. I am so overwhelmed that this video has been watched as many times as it has. I am so glad to see that there are other people out there who care about these animal welfare issues. Thank you so much everyone, and please, spread the word about the cruelty of battery hens and together we can make a difference and get these hens out of cages!

  • Totally agree I I cant take this lack of mental capacity these farmers have

  • @MrPeperidge I know, they are obviously aware of the pain they inflict on these animals, so why can't they just stop? :(

  • I have 13 free range chickens, and they are the sweetest things ever! No animals should ever be treated this bad. I am also young, im 13, and this year I have saved over 40 ill, injured, and orphaned wildlife, 14 birds of all kinds, 14 bunnys, 1 turtle (Blind), 15+ mice, and I just released 2 squirrels whom were victims of hurricane Irene. My rehabilitating is being supported by two vets, and a pet store.

  • I am not speaking to anyone who may own a free range farm, but to those that think there's a world of difference between the two. The only sure way to have animals taken care of is to not eat them. Plain and simple. Another great upside to that for the sticklers? It'll save you that money you so direly need.

  • As far as money is concerned: the people that have demanded low meat prices are the reason farmers have focused on producing more meat for a lower cost.

  • People will say they hate this sort of shit but will think nothing of having a KFC when they use these methods to grow their chickens. The hypocrisy is amazing. Farmers have to grow food in places like this because people simply don't want to pay the extra money it would cost if these chickens were grown free-range.

It costs money, and if people want cheap food, this is never going to stop.

  • i totally it is soooo cruel
