I hope that Fela Kuti's life is taught about here in the states...African americans who decend from the Slave trade brag that they are AFRICAN AMERICAN,,but they hardly know little about South,West,East and Central african countries. Learn about the other proud Afrikaners,,food,music,language,politics,religion..
For all it is worth, I was actually there in person, just a few feet away from the grave site. If you look at the video clips carefully, you will notice some individuals are on the roof of a vehicle with a black pole next to it. That actually was my Remote broadcast truck and the black pole, is my broadcast antenna and mast with which my crew and I transmitted this ceremony live on radio, Raypower100.5Fm.
Tough broadcaster I am, but that day I broke down in the middle of a live broadcast.
If Fela contested to be president then, I'm sure he would av won wif dis crowd @ his funeral....O GA OOO, C D GUY DAT WANTED TO JUMP INTO THE VOULT, Y WERE DEY HOLDING HIM BACK..LOL
@geligurl I didn't know what they were singing, but I felt it in my heart deeply..I love this Legend music, and after having the experience of being married to a Nigerian and expose to the culture, You pick up the culture and their expressions, especially for their love ones...Nigeria lives in my soul forever..Thank you for your kind response..We are all Gods Children..And Sinners has a soul too!..Amen
Wow! talking about the Holy spirit...It sure was moving in the presence of all this. I'm an Black American, never been to Nigeria in my life, Just loved listening to Fela Music. My ex-husband was who introduced me to "Lady", "Shakara, my two of his favorites, but still and all I feel what these Nigerians are celebrating. May Fela Kuti, generation of his wives and children all be comforted in The Lord...

Brother Fela Kuti is one of the greatest Afro beat legends of all-time.
Brother Fela was about the unity of African people and the African families across the planet earth.
Brother Fela Kuti did songs that uplifted us from the clutches of mass genocide etc.
Brother Fela Kuti was funny, classical and he was inspirational.
