Ich habe unter MK40213 zwei Kommentare abgegen, die ich mit heute in sofern korrigieren muss, als ich Brendel zuvor nicht für göttlich hielt. Dieses Konzert dürfte niemals jemand besser gespielt haben.

Um meinen eigenen Kommentar noch zu untermauern: Brendel nutzt die technische Möglichkeit der Repetition (anders als beim Klavier kann man die Tasten erneut anschlagen, bevor sie in die Ausgangslage zurückgekehrt ist) gelegentlich, um die schwingende Saite erneut sanft zu berühren, womit er den unvergleichlich sanften Ton erzeugt. Auf diese Weise wird das ansonsten simpel erscheinende Palim-Palim, das auch Kinder spielen können zur Offenbarung.

Keiner hat je das Plin-Plin dieses göttlichen Klavierkonzerts sanfter in den Mittelpunkt geschoben als Alfred Brendel. Vielleicht bedarf es nicht nur des rechten Gefühls, sondern eines Zusatzgelenks in den sanften Tigerpfoten eines alternden Genies. (Ich könnte nicht solchermaßen schwärmen und zugleich reflektieren, hätte ich ihn nicht live im Kieler Schloss erlebt.In andern Fällen muss ich ein paar Gläser Wein trinken, um dergleichen zu erleben, was mir freilich die Reflexionsfähigkeit nimmt.

Once again, Neville Marriner and St. Martin in the Fields deserve credit here as well... a perfectly paced , limpid performance, with nice ornament work of Brendel, just one of his calling cards that make him standout, without sentimentality , another trademark, of both performers I might add ..... Brendel may caress the melody a little heavy at 3:40 , ever so slightly, but still beautilly phrased ...... a masterpiece and master perfomance , till the end of time, all in 6:37m.
