  • @wistfulwitness - I'm honestly not trying to be insulting but unless you have a good understanding of economic/banking history (esp. the Fed. Res.) you & I are just not going to see eye-2-eye.

What that statement says is, "I, Mr. Stark strongly support creating a new independent (i.e. secretive) agency under the Fed, (also an indep./secretive agency w/no gov. oversight - no audit, remember?) to oversee their competition."

In other words, Pete strongly wants the fox to watch over the hens.

  • @wistfulwitness - Oh, you mean the same bill I've been alluding to you about - the one where Pete voted against his own Fed audit bill, leaving a stripped down version (against Americans wishes - see prev. msg.) & instead grants NEW powers to the Federal Reserve, an internationally owned private banking cartel with no accountability?

Yes, I've been paying great attention - obviously more than you & it would be "crazy" to reason how Pete's action doesn't support the banks (i.e. Fed banks).

  • @wistfulwitness - Because I know my facts and speak the truth. I'm afraid you need to do a little more research on the subject to fully understand the background of this ground-breaking, history making legislation, H.R. 1207 & S. 604. Pete sold us out!

I suggest starting with following that corroborate my facts:

    ronpaul_com / legislation / audit-the-federal-reserve-hr-1207 / (trim spaces & replace underscore with dot)

"80% Favor Auditing the Federal Reserve" (source: Rasmussen Reports)

  • From Stark's website (part of his remarks abt the Wall Street reform act): "I strongly support [creating] a new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. This independent bureau with the Federal Reserve will be on the front lines _protecting taxpayers from predatory lenders and other unfair practices by mortgage brokers, banks, student lenders, and credit card companies_."

  • @presidentpit: I'm not sure if YOU are paying attention, actually, because Stark voted enthusiastically for the Wall Street reform bill, esp. for the Consumer Protection bureau provision. So for you to say he supports the banks over Americans is kind of crazy.

  • @solojdw42: And by the way, I have to take you with a big grain of salt if you say you were persuaded to think someone ELSE was God while watching Glenn Beck.

  • @solojdw42: Now this is pretty funny. The one thing I thought everyone knew about

Stark is that he is the only professed atheist in the Congress. There are others who will admit it privately, but he's the only one who will say it out loud in front of the voting public. And I would bet that if you asked him, he'd say GOD has no place in politics...

  • @presidentpit: I just looked up HR 1207 on THOMAS; I see Pete Stark as a co-sponsor, and a relatively early one (3/26/09, just one month after Ron Paul intro'd it), but the bill is in committee now - no Congressional votes on it yet. So how can you say Stark voted against it??

  • @wistfulwitness - I disagree; Stark IS a hypocrite. He & 319 (yes, 3-1-9!!) colleagues succumb to press. from 80% (yes, 8-0-%!!) Americans to audit the Fed. Res., by co-sponsoring HR1207. But, Stark sided with the banks over Americans & VOTED AGAINST HIS OWN BILL! Why? This is not a partisan issue! And if you've been paying attn. you'd realize the US economic situation is VERY scary. As long as people like u vote the party and not the person the US will never change. Do same w/no change=insane!

  • I've seen Stark demeaning, reprimanding and insulting his constituents while standing up for illegal aliens. This man is so vile and disgusting that he is barely human. Vote this monster-toad out.
