This was also the only ever international hit for the Vertigo label.

SO HIGH!

The influence of this single was truly seismic. In it's own way as influential as the Pistols

this was the chart version from 1975 so forget the rest lolo.

@morning1500 I believe there are at least two different edits of this - one is listed on my CD as "1975 US Chart Single Ver." and is 3;35 long, then I also have another edit at 3:08 called the "1981 Reissue Ver." - both on a CD called "Krafterk: Werke Westwood One Rarities On Compact Disc Vol. 55 - I suspect this may be a bootleg.

Here is the address to the ACTUAL ORIGINAL radio version. :) Just put YOUTUBE.COM in front of this: /watch?v=iukUMRlaBBE

I was a kid when they played this song on my local *AM* radio station. They had a call-in show called "Instant Request", and I requested this song more than once while it was still a hit. I also got to know the DJ, Frank Derak". This version is different form the one that was actually played on the radio. It's CLOSE, but it doesn't quite sound "right"! OK, no, it definitely isn't the same. Still, not bad.

it kinda misses the point of the song, editing it like this :/
still, thanks for uploading it. i always wondered how they'd managed to edit this down :P

It was edited down so it could get radio airplay, which it did - it was a top ten hit in the U.K. & did very well in the US as well - this made people curious so they then bought the album to her the full lenth version.
