Tanglang Chuji Sanda (Elementary Free-fighting) Pt 1

This compilation was shot in Australia between 1999 and 2000. This most basic level of Tanglang freehand sparring (majority open hand contact to the head, no gloves) is designed to introduce the fundamentals of Tanglang shou fa, ti fa, shuai fa and bu fa (hand, kicking, grappling and throwing and stepping methods). This is the first clip I have uploaded, please excuse the low level quality of both the performance and footage. I intend to post more clips in upcoming weeks showing full-contact elementary and intermediate level free-fighting (both with and without gloves and headgear) from my current batch of students. This method of developing Tanglang Sanda came down to me from the late Shifu Kang Zhiqiang of Qingdao (Qixing Tanglang), may he rest in peace.

@089hlj Unfortunately we don't have that particular form in our branch of the family. You can still find Wong Honfan's descendants practicing it though.

Although it looks a little wild, I actually control it pretty closely, so it's not really too dangerous. Yes, maybe a little hard for some but I think there should always be an element of pain and consequence involved in sparring. Cheers.
