I was always under the impression that the passage of Rev 9:7-10 was referring to helicopters, and the thundering sound their rotor blades make when they are flying. The faces of men refers to men sitting inside the helicopter, and they look like locusts because of the shape of their helmets. The tails like a scorpion refers to the helicopter tails.
