Asgede Gebreselassie, the author of Gahdi (a series of books that chronicled how TPLF was used as a cannon fodder for Eritrean secession from Ethiopia) at a book bazaar in Mekelle, capital of Ethiopia's northernmost Tigrai region. The critical works of the author have raised eye-brows in the city controlled by Eritrean mercenaries, including Prime Minister Meles Zenawi who - disguised as an Ethiopian - rejected former US President Jimmy Carter's advice not to turn Ethiopia into the largest landlocked nation on Earth. Carter had thought Zenawi was an Ethiopian, and was utterly surprised by his determination to go ahead and hand over the entire Red Sea frontier to his motherland - Eritrea. He is still in power, and his policies, including the time bomb of "ethnic federalism", have proven detrimental to the furure existence of Ethiopia as one country.
