Gordon Ramsay is raising pigs for the F Word cooking pot but he's worried he and his children are becoming too attached to them.

  • @don417 LOL LOL LOL THIS COMMENT MADE MY DAD LMFAO

  • @northernstudio I disagree, I think in this case, the earlier the better. Yes, the pigs are cute, but they're not pets. I agree that's a hard thing to keep in mind for children that young (even for myself, and I'm 21) though. At least they get to see what it takes to give animals a good life before they eat them. These pigs are spoiled and I wish every single farm animal could be treated like this. It's so sad millions of them aren't.

  • @cloudbuster77 I'm pretty sure it's just because he's going to kill and eat them in 2 months there buddy.

If you've seen the video of where he has to go and slaughter then he may as well be putting down a couple of family dogs. Gordon fucking LOVED those pigs.

It's the closest I've ever seen the man to actually crying.

  • I don't know what's the best way to tell your kids for something like this. For example, when I was a kid my grandparents raised rabbits all winter and always told me when I was young that they "let them go in the spring" and what I was eating was "chicken" (I always wondered why their chicken tasted so much better than my moms LOL). They didn't tell me until I was older, and I still think it's okay with the way they handled it.

  • @Zephilindrum HAhah that's the funniest thing I've read all day

  • notice how gordon tells his kids not to grow attached to the pigs. This is the defense mechanism humans use to not let their maltreatment in factory farms affect us. It helps to objectify them and view them objects, not sentient, intelligent creatures whose life means as much to them as yours does to you. Pigs are smarter than dogs, but you'd never think of your dog living the conditions that pigs are raised in today on CAFOs.

  • I think Gordon has done a fine job of introducing animals as food.

In fact I remember my mother doing something similar when I was at that age.

  • @northernstudio Well you are not going to tell them all the details of the slaughtering you just tell them that they are not pets they are meant to be eaten later on, that way the kids wont be too attached to them.
