@waterkeeper511 Yeah, I got that part. It just took me eight years LOL, but there are other things in this film that are far harder to understand. However, I stand by the idea that no one can fully understand this movie.

@Rosebunse It's really not that hard to understand. The Instrumentality happened, and then, in the film, Shinji rejected it and returned to being an individual.
It makes sense...

To everybody, my personal belief on the last moments of NGE are that Shinji became God and created the multiverse. Everything is cannon, even the most crack-y fanfictions. I think...

@DeliciousRon Yeah, but it takes an extreme turn with this anime, as well as many others. Instead of just enjoying it, people take it to such an extreme that they have to know what's going on. But what if there is nothing deeper? The director himself said that the story was more about people devoting their lives to geekdom and missing out on real life as they do it. But then people try to find ways to move around that so that it's about religion or something.

If your best guess is "don't try and figure it out", well then you just enjoy the pretty animation. But it's really not that hard of a story to understand.
Besides, the fun part IS trying to figure it out.

There were two movies released. The first was called Death and Rebirth and is essentially a summary of the TV series.
The second movie was called End of Evangelion, and it's another ending to the series.
On top of that, there's a four-movie series in production (two movies already made) called Rebuild of Evangelion which is a retelling from the beginning.
This video has clips from the TV series and End of Evangelion.

is there a second season or does it just end at episode 26

@TheOlvaid I think the point of the series was very simple; don't try and figure it out. I posted that comment 2 years ago, and after much growing up and soul searching-and 2 college English classes where I was beat over the head with meaningless symbolism-I've decieded the point was probably not to figure it out and just accept it as a good anime. Don't write your doctoral paper on it, don't look for the meaning of life it in, just enjoy it. Sure, savor it, but don't waste your life on it.

@Rosebunse you're wrong. if someone tries to look at the series with some atention, and they do not just swallw the episodes, you can see what happens. i have recently started to watch it, and it is true that i may have to watch it agian, but i CAN figure out little stuff. it is an amazing series, and maybe it is true that it is confusing, but just as life itself is. however, i will try and watch it as many times as i have to, because it seems like the message is pretty deep and quite important.
This series was beautiful, but so confusing that no one really knows how it ended or what was going on. Anyone who says they do and isn't one of its writers or directors, is lying to you.
