The 1992 Valentine Ball

Lucas sees something or someone and leaves a bewildered Felicia on the dance floor to go and check it out. Rachel welcomes everyone to the Valentine Ball and thanks them for donating to the Mackenzie Cory Fund, which is supporting cardiac research this year, then announces that Paulina and Grant will start the dancing. Other couples take to the floor, including Vicky and Ryan, with Vicky complaining about Paulina wearing the same dress as her; Sam and Amanda, who leave the pregnant Olivia standing alone while they go to dance; and Donna and John, after Donna asks John to show everyone how dancing is done. Felicia and Rachel are talking when Lorna arrives at the ball alone. Rachel wants to go and talk to Lorna, but Felicia asks Rachel to let her talk to "the spider woman." Lorna blows Felicia off and goes over to Matt and Hannah, who are dancing together, and proceeds to make a public scene that ends when first Hannah runs off in tears, and then Lorna, on the verge of tears herself, runs off in the other direction. Matt goes after Lorna, and Jamie stops Rachel from going after Matt, telling his mother that she can't tell Matt who to see. When Iris says that Lorna needs a leash, Rachel remarks that she's afraid of what Lorna would do with it. Jamie is surprised to learn that Dennis and Marley went on a business trip together. Matt and Lorna face off over the public scene Lorna caused on the dance floor. Lorna agrees to give Matt a chance, and to talk to Hannah. When Matt returns to the ball alone, Rachel thinks he threw Lorna out, but he informs her that he asked Lorna to stay, which does not make Rachel happy. Jake watches Paulina dancing with Grant, then comes to Olivia's rescue when a gossip columnist approaches her by taking the gossip columnist's tape recorder away from her, removing the tape, and destroying it on the spot, as Sam whisks Olivia onto the dance floor. Amanda and Jamie commiserate over how tough the evening is for both of them and how they're getting through it. Kevin advises Jake to forget about Paulina because she's with Grant now, and reminds Jake that he promised their father he'd keep Jake out of trouble. Jake tells Kevin to shove his promise and that he doesn't want Kevin in his life any more than Kevin wants Jake in his life, and then Jake storms off. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

They keep playing Cass & Frankie's song "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" during the dance, that's awesome! :-)

And I'm not crazy about Matt, but I'm glad he told Lorna off for her rotten comment to Hannah.
