Departure from Rwy 19R at Orange County/John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. This take off is a very interesting one with a short runway (5700 ft) as well as a noise restriction resulting in a steep climb and then close to full idle when overflying Newport Beach. Personally, I think these noise abatement rules are garbage... If you choose to live near an airport, you should expect this type of noise. Why do airlines have to suffer through these strict rules? You be the judge of that.
Personally, if you ask me, the short runway and noise abatement rules make for an exciting takeoff experience.

My husband and I are traveling from SNA to LAS in February and I am very much looking forward to the flight out from there.
Balanced field length demands a lot of thrust with less than 1800 m of runway. Perhaps that's why pilots must pull the power back more than is typical after initial climb. I don't think it's unreasonable for a community to restrict noise over their airspace. in the area SNA is second only to LAX in pax volume. Besides I expect some very wealthy peeps live in the area...
