America needs healing. It's often said that "in real life there are no do-overs." Ladies and gentlemen, this is a chance for a do-over! Maybe all those people saying "God Bless America" had some effect, because we now have a chance at something that usually doesn't happen. Yeah, I guess maybe it is a long shot but, damn, isn't it worth taking? The worst that can happen is that Gore says "No," and then we're no worse off than we are now.

Re: 19% inflation in Carter's term.... Does no one factor in that the U.S. borrowed a s*&#load of money for a decade of the Vietnam War? Whether it's Gore, Clinton, Obama or Edwards... the next President will be inheriting a Ginormous debt, the effects from which the U.S. is already suffering.

And natch, the right wing nuts of the 2012 election cycle will blame the incoming democratic administration for the ill effects of Bush's spending spree.
