Have you ever had that moment in life when you ask, "Why am I here and how can I make a difference?"

This is one of those times . . . the video shows the struggles and triumphs of 8 year old Marissa Conway as she battles against Type 1 diabetes. We are raising money to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes and you can help!

Please watch the video and afterwards, go to: http://walk.jdrf.org - search for a Walker: Shane Summers - and help us find a cure!!!

A BIG THANKS to Chris Hatchett with White Cap Pictures for putting the video together - he did an amazing job in a short amount of time!

  • Emily: You can read her whole story by clicking on related video on the right side of the screen "Marissa - Believe in a Cure". Pause that video at 23 seconds and click the "x" to remove the music advertisement at the bottom. Her words at the bottom of the poster were very touching. We are grateful to Shane and Chris who produced this video "The Climb!"

  • Does Marissa have her own website as well? I'd like to read the rest of that story she wrote, but the slideshow went too fast. Either way, Marissa seems like a delightful little girl--very smart, very articulate, positive, and mature beyond her years. How did the walk go?

  • I hope we find a cure for diabetes for Marissa & I will pray for Marissa for a cure. My 9 years old friend Louie Rotella the 4th has type 1 diabetes.

  • This song fit perfectly. Loved this!
