  • Great video, the penny just dropped for me around understanding bonds.

  • @Ash4800 Equity is the residual value after liability claims. So if I have $20,000 of cash as an asset, and $5000 in outstanding liability debt, my equity would be $15,000. In accounting terms, equity is the make up of retained earnings (earnings accumulated that stay within the company) and common shares (or dollars raised by the corporation in the form of stock).
