I was 15 when my parents and I moved to Vermont in March of 93. Two days later. Blizzard of the Century brought us 44in of snow in total, trapping us in the new house. You ever wanna see a kid go back to NJ, that was me.

People don't understand in the South, we don't get this much snow. We freak out when we get 2 inches now because we aren't accustomed to it like people northward are. I mean when you are talking 1-3 feet of snow for some of us in the south, that paralyzes us, and the mountains got 5 feet. So it's not that we are weak from storms because we deal with more tornadoes and severe storms than the north gets.

This storm dumped 18 - 36 inches in PA. I was with the PA National Guard in Sunbury PA at the time and was called up for State emergecy duty. The State Police were not equipped with 4 wheel drive vehicles at the time. I was honored to serve my fellow citizens and the State police during this time.

Three feet of snow paralyzes us in SW Penn. as well. Speaking of severe storms, last year I saw on heck of a Derecho, and two years ago, what I believe was a microburst. All I know is that the sky was black, the air was heavy and calm, and all of a sudden, I saw the heaviest rain of my life all at once. It was like someone picked up Lake Erie and dumped it on my house. There were winds, at least 90mph, blowing back and forth changing direction randomly. It tore down lots of trees. Awesome!

I know, right? Now, it's "Guess Al Roker's Pants size". The only ones left that make any sense or are interesting at all are Dr Forbes and Jim Cantore. Dr Forbes is a wealth of knowledge on severe weather and I find his commentary and analysis very informative and fascinating.

Worst snow storm I can remember. We measured about 36" in several different spots in our yard. The power went out for about a week. Lots of lightning! The second worst was the "Snowmageddon" storm. We were in a narrow band of about 1" of freezing rain right along the mountains, and then, around 25" of heavy wet snow on top of that. The transformers made for a great light show. Even hurricane Sandy gave us about 11" of snow coupled with lots of thundersnow. My friend 15 miles away saw rain

it's now been 20 years. One of the first blizzards I sort of remember, being about 4 years old. lol. I feel bad that my dad had to do all the shoveling since I was too little. I live in Roch, NY and we got 15 inches in one day, based on the statistics I read.

I was in Asheville NC when this hit. Hit two days before my thirteenth Birthday. We had 10 ft drifts in our front yard. I remember my father saying this, "son, look around, you might not ever see this in your life again".

Idk if there has ever been a more impressive radar picture with any storm in history... #amazing. It went from south America to Maine!

I was in my senior year of college in Geneva, NY with 43" of snow. Most one storm snow total I have ever seen. Lived in Moriah NY for the Valentines Day Blizzard and that was close we had 36" for that one. Glad we aren't getting one like either of those.

I traveled to New Castle, PA from Germantown, MD for a baby shower. I remember that I had to extend my stay because the PA Turnpike closed for a day for snow removal.
