Glad I could make the suggestion of ear plugs. They've saved me more often than not. As far as keeping him still for thermometer, snot sucking and nasal sprays, he just sits there and deals, he's pretty mellow like that.

OMG - This is the best horror flick I have seen in a while :D Poor little (&big) guy :) tip (that worked for me for temp taking & SHOTS) put child on one leg, put arm closest to you under your arm, cross unused leg accross child's leg, grab child's free arm with that is supporting the child's back, all this leaves you with a free arm to use for comforting when child is getting a shot OR in this case using to take an armpit reading also put the display part behind the child.

Ear plugs...I can honestly I didn't even think of that! However, this past week, I have been wearing my ear plugs around the house...all day! It has been amazing. :)
