@torrents4u2c don't you realize what you are saying?? TIME CARD??? COUNTING TIME??? does someone not see that this sounds like something else? How many other religions count the time they spend preaching and submit it to the box so that the elder can see what a great job youve done in telling people to be saved.. God should be the only one that determines that..not the bothers or elders! And if you are an elder..that says everything..

I used to be a Jehovah's Witness but I gave it up for lent, it was between that and chocolate. Good girl!! glad you found out before you got ate up in this cult! I was one my whole young life till I was about thirty it was so hard to have to start my life over after being disfellowshipped I tried to go back but I knew this shunning thing just isn't what Jesus would do.

A person with a belief is better than someone with no belief and no hopes going nowhere. So it might be a cult, at least god which ever god you believe in gives you a reason to get up in the morning and knock out the day. What or whom ever your god remember to give him thanks' "Gracia's"-infamous 1 check it out.

@weedservices Just know that those who want God's Truth, God will get them out of any cult. I know, I was a Mormon and God made sure He sent me the truth. So now to this day some 45 years later, I am still sharing with anyone who will listen.

@tommotian Thank you. While I was not a JW, I was in the Mormon church, so I know who cults can take a hold of a person to make them believe doctrines that go against God's Word.

@claudereid2007 You make some pretty strong claims about me. How would you know if I am involved in politics or not? True Believers have not started one war since Jesus assended back to heaven.

Question though, would you allow a thief to break into your house because you love Jesus? Would you protect those you love or would you allow them to kill and rape those you love because you love Jesus?

@mygoodies411 As any cult the JW uses a brain washing technique that gets many sucked into their teaching. You see when a person starts investigating where God's Truth is, Satan comes running to deceive, and those who don't know Christ are at a disadventage of knowing God's Word in order to discern what's being taught to them.

There is no prohibition in the Bible against taking part in politics or holding office. It is a conscience matter with nothing being said pro or against it. Again it depends on what the purpose is. You must not forget that so far God has left us to fend for ourselves.

He will not condemn us if we do.

Sergius Paulus, proconsul on Cyprus, became a Christian but there isn't the slightest hint that he ever left that political position.

This depends on the situation. If there is manifest, long-standing, brutal and persisting tyranny and no end of it in sight, then I would say even a Christian is justified in taking to arms.

Or would you want a Nazi world instead, for example?

Cornelius was a roman army officer. There isn't the slightest hint he ever left the Roman army, Acts 10. If it was important, Why do we not read about it?

You say love your enemy but what about when Jesus called the Pharisees a brood of vipers, hypocrites and whitened tombs? He wasn't being so nice to them then. Do you know why Jesus said this? Because their teachings went against what God taught and Jesus said not only were they going to hell but those they convert will go to hell because of their teachings.

how can any JW re look at a bible when they dont believe in the bible they believe in a book they are taught is a bible writting by a guy who was a freemason named charles taze russell?

it would be impossible for any JW to understand they are following after men, because they are taught and conditioned to believe in men and answer to men. They report time, show up for worship and must be seen to get approval.

Of course it's a cult......but really what you should do is read some history papers & find out the truth about YHWH, how he evolved from the Canaanite gods El, Asherah & Ba'al. Study how the Bible was written & by whom, See what evidence there is to support it's claims.

As a baptist you support wars and you stick your nose in other places where it don't belong such as politics. if everyone obeyed Jesus and love their enemies there would be no such thing as wars since the day Jesus said "love your enemies" you people sure are Christians is that why there are so many wars? Christians fighting Christians lying that they have God. This is not God's Work it is the works of the devil. If everyone obeyed Jesus there would be no wars....

I am disfellwoshiped also but I will not go from one religion to one of the worst religions out there. From what I can see no religion is doing the will of God. They all worship him with their lips but their heart is far removed. It is hard to believe that you used to be a witness and you became a baptist? You know how Jesus and Jehovah feel about supporting wars and sticking the nose where it don't belong! False Religion prophesy falsly, support wars & politics love your enemy says Jesus

@jojoneli76 Thank you for not writing hate. Most people here throw hate and it hurts, I will never get used to it. Are you a Baptist now? I think that the Baptists have good things to offer to the world, too. But so do the JWs. Yes, the Jehovah bible is highly revised. Ha. I agree. But why would that bible be worse than the other bibles? All scriptures are written by humans, some of them have agendas and some don't. It is critical that we question them all. Questions lead to truth.

Most people don't even know you consider yourself Christians therefore Jesus was not talking about your modern day cult but real Christianity who actually call themselves CHRISTIAN as most important name.
