  • I bet you're meager. Try and lay that groove down for a minute and a half - it takes discipline, control and skill; 3 things i'm sure you're meager at.

  • Even your wise ass comments are meager.

  • Need a drumkit to practice this.I only have a pad atm.Not fair :-(

  • I'm pretty sure it's the king kong beat he's playing which is a little more complex than some of the stickings mentioned below. The only place I've seen this beat transcribed is in 'the code of funk' by David garibaldi although no doubt Mr Latham has it in his book too. It's a tough beat to get but worth it. Fantastic video. Really inspiring.

  • great groove, great timing

  • @eskimoposh

I know this isn't an English grammar class, but isn't your usage of the adjective "meager" improper?

This video reminds me of "Face the Face" by Pete Townshend. SImon Phillips plays on that track and has commented on what a challenge it was to keep his playing uniform throughout.

  • this is really great, what perfect time and feel. you perfectly blended music and drums because i can hear music when you play this beat!

  • so tite! fill/ variation at 1:06 feels soooooo fresh with this grove.

  • Mr Perfect, so solid and consistent, just a pleasure to listen to.

  • @tjdrummer13 I expect people to read the titles, which clearly indicates groove not solo, its like asking for chocolate milk at a lemonade stand, they are both drinks, but its the subtly in them that makes them hugely different. nothing personal just kinda funny.

  • Freight train smoooth. Nice.

  • I saw a workshoop years ago here in lisbon of you Rick and was great!

i like your style playing drums and i study a lot exercises about that kind of style u have ,like playing a style of music but put only in one time a note and to not put at the same time 2 notes, like u to it rick in some rythm music styles !!

    keep drumming, u are great!
