Cardinal Stritch University (Clare Hall) EVP

This is an Electronic Voice Phenomena, also known as an EVP, of the basement of Clare Residence Hall at Cardinal Stritch University. I took the elevator down to the basement, which I knew to be haunted, and set my recorder on the floor and went exploring on my own, coming back shortly after to gather the tape recorder and head back to my room. I noticed a light had been left on, so I went to turn it off. This light was in the laundry lounge, where residents can wait for their laundry to finish up. Before I flipped the switch, though, I noticed that somebody had tried a Ouija Board in that room (it's common knowledge that the Residence Hall is supposedly haunted). I then turned off the light, and, being alone, I got a bit paranoid and it felt like I was being watched. So I gathered up my recorder and headed back to my room.

I had noticed the Ouija board about a minute and a half after placing the recorder. Upon reviewing the tape, I heard a voice at approximately 1:38 saying what sounded to me, "Keep it," at about the same time I encountered the Ouija Board.

This particular voice I would classify as a Class C voice -- a bit hard to hear, and a bit hard to decipher, but something can still be gathered from it. The recording was made at approximately 1:40 am on Sunday, September 07, 2008.

NOTE: The voice captured is rather faint. I tried to boost the volume output on my computer, but it was at maximum. Turn up your speakers.

Ok, I've gotten a lot of feedback from various people in various forms, and most of them said the same thing: They don't hear it.

It's very faint and can almost be mistaken as the white noise behind it...at first.

Listen for a little bump of sound right after the subtitle appears.

I lived in Clare Hall(One East) in 2002-04. That basement sure was creepy.

I also used to get eerie phone calls - when I picked up elevator music would start playing. Worst, there'd be knocks on my door between 2-3 AM and no one there when I opened the store. One night I waited reading in a chair by the door. I opened it two seconds after hearing the knock. No one there.
