It's a little known fact that Sonic The Hedgehog actually debuted on Atari's VCS console in 1981.*

  • @SouthwesternEagle & @kreeddem:

    4-bit? So you´re sayin' the MOS 6507 was a half-byte CPU?

MOS 6507, the Atari VCS 2600 CPU, was an 8-bit microprocessor. Indeed, this CPU is a stripped down MOS 6502, that was the Apple II and NES CPU, only this is much cheaper due to less capacity to address memory.

Don't be fooled by consoles' 4th generation, that marketed 16-bit is better than 8-bit simply because it's 16-bit.

Intellivision had a 16-bit CPU, but it made him comparable to Genesis or SNES?

  • Sega outdown themselves with graphics!

  • lame

  • @finmarc That's 4-bit
