Yes, please stop wearing! Because fur from Asian countries is so inexpensive, & because those furriers know dog and cat fur is not well received in many Western counties, they frequently mislabel or neglect to label it at all when exporting. Additionally, Canada does not require that the fur be labeled on garments, nor does it have a ban on the import of dog & cat fur. If you buy fur, you MIGHT be buying the skin & coat of a dog or cat, who suffered for it, so please don't wear any fur.

Actually, USA is one of the 8 countries that have banned dog/cat fur products. The 27-country EU has also proposed a similar ban that is expected to go into effect in December 2008. As a Canadian, I am saddened by our government's inaction. I've written to the ministers, the prime minister, and the MPS, but nothing is being done. Please write to your government representatives and demand an import and sale ban of such cruel products.

I was horrified! :( However, as much as i love dogs and especially cats, NO animal should be treated in such a disgusting appaling manner. I do not wish to own any fur which is real. And seeing as real fur in some cases is being mislabelled and sold as fake fur, i will not buy anything that even resembles fur. The only way to make sure to make sure you are not purchasing the fur of a dead animal, is to not buy ANYTHING with fur on it, and that includes "fake" fur.

For some, hell is literally is on earth, some do not have to die to go there. A big problem is, that cat and dog fur is mislabelled, and sometimes dyed to disguise its true origin.The sickening thing is, lots or unsuspecting european animal loving consumers are buying this stuff with no idea about its true origin. It is used in all kinds of things from kid's toys to "fake" fur trim on jackets and things. I was once bought a cat toy as a present, and it turned out to be made of real cat fur :(
