Finishing up this 63 note Harpsichord that was custom built and a MIDI system installed. I have posted 2 videos. They are the very first tests that I have run. This unit normally will be standing straight up. I have it lying down in a normal position to work on the electronics. When completed it will run on a wireless midi connection. Upon completion I will remove these videos and record new ones with the unit standing in its upright position. Units like this are custom built to order. Contact me through my website for more info. This is quite a long song but wanted to play a song with a good arrangement to show the quality and repetition of the Harpsichord.
Enjoy

  • can you make this harpsichord play death waltz too? this one

  • J.S. Bach, Bwv 1052 / 3 Allegro :)

  • That'a pretty cool. Can have more voices than two hands allow. In other words, this piece would not be possible to play as is by a person.

But....why are you missing half the strings? You only built one of two registers?

  • That was pretty fantastic! The harpsichord's relative lack of dynamics control makes mechanical operation a natural. For a moment, I thought I was hearing Wanda Landowska whom I think was the greatest harpsichordist ever. I wish I could afford it!
