Alina Pogostkina is one of the most exiting violonists of our times. Here - as during the Sibelius competition - she plays a violin by the german luthier Falk Peters from Aachen. His violins are in many issues superior to many old italian violons as Strads etc.

@elisabeth717 Not sure. She played a modern violin when she won the sibelius and now she has a strad. I don't know what she's playing here, but I think it sounds nice too.

@misszezcullen hilary hahn is brilliant at bach. really really good. but for other pieces shes quite robotic/too technical and her performances somehow don't move me as much as others people's

I was on her concert in Czech republic in Brno 3 weeks ago. She played 1st violin concerto from Shostakovich. It was really something extraordinary. Such a pity that there is only one video from her on youtube. She is really great fiddler.
