NASA KEPLER Spacecraft Prepares to move to the Launch Pad

NASA's Kepler spacecraft was lifted and attached to an upper stage booster on Feb. 16 at the Astrotech Space Operations facility in Titusville, Fla., to begin preparations for its move to Launch Complex 17 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Kepler is designed to survey more than 100,000 stars in our galaxy to determine the number of sun-like stars that have Earth-size and larger planets.

The spacecraft was built for NASA by Ball Aerospace, Boulder, Colo., and is scheduled to launch on March 5 at 10:48 p.m. EST.
