St Lucia, the Queen of Light, is celebrated in Sweden with processions
of girls dressed in long white gowns, wearing a crown of candles and
singing traditional Lucia & Christmas carols. This tradition, which
dates back from the 18th century, is a key event in the Swedish
Christmas calendar and nowadays every city in Sweden elects its own
Lucia. Available material includes footage of St Lucia and her maids
in Gothenburg as well as the traditional Christmas market at Liseberg
amusement park . Merry Christmas from Gothenburg
