The NUKES were the highly-compensated spokesband for the Nuclear Industry back in the 1970's, spreading the word about a future in which energy would be so abundant and inexpensive that appliances would no longer have "off" switches. The band centered its radioactive performances in Bloomington, Indiana - where even now, microwave popcorn pops on store shelves all by itself. The song "King of the Hill" was dedicated to the construction of the Marble Hill nuclear generating facility in Indiana. Rumors that the band was somehow connected to "The Fabulous White Brothers" comedy team have never been substantiated. Band lineup: Mike, Steve, Surfin' Frank, Dale & Keith.
