Marvelous Patti Page sings her mega-hit "Tennessee Waltz" wearing a beautiful gown in a sophisticated setting. Here is an alternate 1956 video version of "Tennessee Waltz" different from the familiar version of the song.

  • Why cant we have that kind of singing today,Patti Page is one of a kind simply just the best singer ever and I afraid we will never have another.

  • @61marilyn

I agree with you Marilyn, There's no vocal distinction in most of the female singers today. The exception to that, in the recent past there's Crystal Gayle and Annie Lennox that come to mind. Today there's Norah Jones with a beautiful voice full of emotional expression. She's even recorded "Tennessee Waltz" but still Patti is unrivaled by anyone vocally and in style and popularity.

  • My gosh, those cosy Middle America days of the 50s. I guess the 60s changed everything - For the better or the worse? thats anybody's guess.

  • What great song!

What an era of gentle music...

Nowadays, most of the music is just crap, nothing more...

    Patti was so sweet.

This is an eternal song, it will live forever!!!

  • @61marilyn People have suggested Karen Carpenter as possessing similar vocal talents to those of Patti Page.

  • This takes me way back, to the final years of my last incarnation, when I used to listen to this song in the old folks' home, prior to my last death in '60.

  • 素晴らしい
