Rae Manzon began his training in martial arts over 40 years ago. A longtime student of the legendary King of Kata, Eric Lee, Manzon specialized in various exotic forms of kung-fu rarely seen in the West. In this DVD, he focuses on one of the most misunderstood systems, commonly referred to as drunken style. This is because the underlying strategy is to move in an unpredictable way so as to annoy and confuse the opponent, the movements often resembling those of a drunkard. Learn the drunken system's falls styles, form, stances and unique combative techniques. To order this DVD: https://www.up-publications.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=2460.

  • Nice techniques, good skills, but can anyone guarantee me that this is real drunkard kungfu or is just normal martial arts techniques pretending being drunken?

  • @prax4788 yes, there can be several version of drunken. Any style can be adapted to use some drunk style form. I.e. something that deals with a lot of throwing/grappling. Juijitsu. You can act as if unbalanced but still be able to do lets say the hip toss or the shoulder throw. Due to you can place your footing exactly right to do both while in a supposed drunken stooper. As nongxingkwoon said. Drunken Style is a free spirited martial arts because it doesn't use a set system or series of moves.

  • @ShyningStar1 yeah,..I think you are right....kung fu made by peace,...I can't see that from that master.....

  • @SavageInsight Than isnt it posible for any style to be adapted to a drunken form?

  • he'll kick your ass

  • @nongxingkwoon There's a underlying spirit to Drunken Style, you could almost say a rule, that makes answering this question a little difficult. Drunken style is very different from most martial arts because it does not use a set system, series of techniques, etc. but rather a freeform connection to your body, freedom of movement, and the question to yourself "if I were drunk/unbalanced/awkward, what would I do next to fight?" In short, Drunken style's point is to be free of rules.

  • @b1acksmirf while you are correct about that being the most efficient path for a strike, movements that don't follow linear paths have more time to build power and momentum, even "straight" punches you this idea with twisting motions in the hips, shoulders and arm (During extension). the only two well know styles that employ truly straight punches are boxing jabs (which are quick hits that stop an oncoming opponent) and wing chun multi punches (which hit the same spot over and over again)

  • @lordtains true since alot of martial arts style use balance against their enemy to keep size from being a factor right?

  • very unorthodox but very effective. respect...most martial artists take an unorthodox fighting technique as weakness and get fucked up by these unorthodox techniques...good stuff

  • Baguazhang has linear forms as well. There are plenty of examples on Youtube of both the Gao and Liang versions.
