Ilanit singing Balalaika, from 1984. Was originally supposed to be the Israeli Eurovision entry that year but due to the Contest being held on a memorial day Israel didn't take part. As great a song as it is I don't think it would have won, even if Ilanit had worn golden boots... Enjoy!

  • @debrozenn Part 2: In the heart of the night I whispered to him: "Your prayer I've heard from within the weeps I hear, I know - my brother you are, my brother." In the heart of the night he still plays But with the morning his voice will quiet So i shall take him, and I carry him To the whole world Chorus: Balalaika...
  • @debrozenn Here you go :) Part 1: In the heart of the night I heard a voice It's my brother's voice on the rivers of Babylon A mute prayer, without consolation Towards the Land of Israel Out of the muteness his voice arose It had no storm in it nor fire Only a balalaika in the mids of night And a man's voice, whispering Chorus: Balalaika, balalaika Oh sing for me "If I shall forget thee, Jerusalem" Balalaika, balalaika My song is yet to be sung in the Land of Israel

  • @Laizlabonita You know... many were aware from day 1 this is Russian-inspired at the very least. You should try to keep your attitude and poison away from here.
